Kenny Loo

Kenny Loo is a first year PhD student in the Department of Materials Science & Engineering at Cornell University. Kenny is interested in exploring bioinspired and biomimetic soft materials and their interactions at interfaces to address biomedical challenges. He joined the Van Vliet Group in November 2024, eager to enhance materials for artificial axons and to deepen his understanding of their structure-property relationships.

Kenny earned his B.Eng. in Materials Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, where he researched the effects of organic solvents on the coacervation of zwitterionic homopolymers. Outside the lab, he enjoys traveling, discovering new cuisines, and photography.
