Junsung (John) Lee
Junsung is interested in studying biological phenomena from an engineering perspective and advancing the medical field by applying engineering principles.
In 2018, Junsung earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He then received his M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University, where he conducted research on the mechanical properties of bacteria and bacterial responses to mechanical stimuli using a microfluidic system.
Junsung joined the Van Vliet group as a Postdoctoral Researcher in August 2024, eager to explore cell-material interactions for cell therapy manufacturing and drug delivery applications.
